PREREQUISITES
In order to take this program, you should have some knowledge of medical terminology. Education in anatomy and physiology is strongly recommended, but not required.
This program is for anyone in the healthcare industry who wants to master medical coding in general, and/ or ICD-10 medical coding specific. Coding experience is not required.
PC REQUIREMENTS
This program can only be taken on a PC. It is not Mac compatible. It is compatible with Windows XP and later operating systems and IE 7 and later browsers. There are no specific computer requirements other than an Internet connection and an e-mail account.

About The Instructor
Carline Dalgleish has worked in medical office administration, including billing and coding, for over 30 years. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems, a Master’s Degree in Leadership and a Post-Baccalaureate certificate in Health Information Management and is a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) She is an AHIMA Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer and is a published author on the new ICD-10 coding system. She is a member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and the American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM), and owns her own consulting firm, AnnGrant Educational Services.

This training includes detailed instructions for using the coding manuals, understanding the coding guidelines, and accurately applying the ICD-10 coding steps. There are more than 40 quizzes and exams for diagnoses and procedures by body system to test your knowledge and understanding.
In addition, you will find information on the impact of the coding changes on medical coders, healthcare staff, physicians, software systems, documentation, and information technology.
The textbooks for this program are included. This online certificate program is offered in partnership with major colleges, universities, and other accredited education providers.

Upon registering, you are given an initial six (6) months to complete the program. However, if you are unable to complete the course, contact your Student Advisor to help you work out a suitable completion date. Please note that an extension fee may be charged.
